Tutors and TAs don't have the authority to make policy decisions for the course. Examples of policy decisions are assignment deadlines or "do we have to" questions, such as "do we have to comment this function?" For each policy decision, ask the tutor to show the source of that information. Each student is responsible for their own actions or inactions.
